Jessica Whitt


Jessica was born in Durham but raised in Roxboro, NC. She obtained her Nursing Degree in 2009 and later returned for her paralegal certification in 2011. Jessica joined The Gunter Law Group in 2018 as our workers’ compensation lead paralegal.


With over 6 years of experience, Jessica has worked in the legal arena with a focus on assisting injured workers. She has a genuine passion for helping clients get the benefits they are rightfully entitled to.


In her free time, Jessica enjoys reading, tending to her garden & spending quality time with her children and fiancé


Cereza Duarte 

Lead Case Manager

Cereza Duarte is the lead Case Manager in Personal Injury Department with the Gunter Law Group. She assists and supports in all phases of lawsuits, from filing through trial, as well as mediations and arbitrations. She has worked in house and with local law firms and has more than 10 years of legal experience in the areas of personal injury, workers compensation, criminal and traffic. 


Over the years, Cereza has volunteered with various organizations involving fundraisers, serving food and cleaning for those in need.


Cereza enjoys being outdoors, spending time with friends and family, and traveling whenever possible.


Christian Pena


Chris is originally from Santiago, Chile where he lived with his parents until he was 13 years old.  At that time, he moved with his family to the United States and has lived in North Carolina ever since.


Christian has been with the firm for seven years and manages our daily operations while handling the firm’s workers’ compensation cases from start to finish. In addition, he visits potential clients in the hospital or in their homes if they cannot come to the office.


Chris is fluent in both English and Spanish and is an active member of the community. In his spare time, he enjoys repairing computers, working on automobiles, video/image editing, playing video games and spending time with his 8 year old son.


K. Gregory Gunter


Greg was born and raised in Western North Carolina.  He attended Western Carolina University where he graduated with honors in 1996.  Afterwards, he moved with his family to the Raleigh area where he attended law school at the University of North Carolina School of Law before graduating in 2001.  During this time, he began his legal career working for an insurance defense firm.  Upon graduating, however, he began representing victims of serious accidents.

In 2006, he opened The Law Office of K. Gregory Gunter in order to represent the interests of individuals who had been hurt on the job or involved in motor vehicle accidents.  Since then he has helped hundreds of such people obtain adequate compensation for their claims while providing the type of one-on-one interaction that injured people need and deserve.

Greg is an active member of the North Carolina Bar Association and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.  He has been married to his wife, Erin, for twenty-three years.  The two also have one child, a twenty-one-year-old daughter named Eliana.  In his spare time, Mr. Gunter enjoys reading, exercise, and watching sports.
